Internet Tough Guy

You gotta love butt-hurt forum admins.

Im not one to chest beat, but I find this exceedingly amusing.

So a gaming community I play with (Not publishing any names. Professionalism and what-not), Has a forum (duh!). So i posted on their off topic section the news piece about the child that directed planes around on the ground (Google ATC child). I found it amusing the child doing so.
There were several that disagreed, and several that agreed with the level of funny involved.
To make a short story short, One of the head admins (persons that run damn near everything, from the site, to the game servers), became increasingly annoyed that people disagreed with him. So we have our internet fight and as anticipated the thread was locked. BUT only after the admin spouted obscenities and got the last word in.

Take my ball and go home indeed.

Moral of the story: If you are an admin of anything, show some professionalism and refrain from using foul and derogatory language directed at your patrons (Unless in jest and both parties understand the humor). These people are your bread and butter, and in many cases, pay the bills.
Agree to disagree but don't lock/delete items just so you can get the last word in or pull the "FUCK YOU! IM THE LAW AROUND HERE!" bit.

(By the way, I'm the law around here.)

  1. It's all about the last word for some people. In the end, all you can really do is rise above it and move on.

I visit a number of forums myself and I usually don't get into too many conflicts (I guess I'm not as passionate about most things like some people). Still, my biggest gripe has to be thread derailment, especially when I'm the one starting one and I'm actually looking for significant feedback (glares at NerdBound forums) …

Oh, hey, guys, did I mention we have forums now?
