Friend of mine also suggested Kill La Kill. I also see it pop up often in AMV hell clips.

I have to check out the Trigun movie too, loved that series when I was in high school. Back when I used to go to suncoast to buy each DVD volume for 30 fucking dollars.

As for some classics, check out Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro

The Bebop movie wasn't half bad. Consider Samurai Champloo (from the same director as Bebop), its on Netflix. Any of the Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex seasons are also top notch.

We will slowly start picking through the PS2 library considering it has now been almost 6 years since we started this horrible failure of an experiment and over 4 years since i made that post.

I'm working through Code Geass at the moment, I initially wrote the series off because it was boring me to tears. It picked up around episode 8/9 and the pace never let up until the end. Second series has been a bit hit and miss though. It's basically Gundam crossed with Death Note, with some really intelligent writing and well fleshed out characters, and the animation for the larger fights are impressive.

I wasn't too keen on the Cowboy Bebop movie, seemed more like it was to pander to longtime fans who just wanted more of Spike and crew, I think a lot of people would have just preferred a serialized return - something like twelve episodes. It is worth checking out, but, as a huge fan of Cowboy Bebop it just didn't feel too satisfying. :(

Panty and stocking with garter belt.

now before you laugh, this anime is VERY adult.
yes it looks like power puff girls, but thats where the similarities end.

also, it is one of the very few animes where the Dub is actually better than the japanese VOs.

Kill la Kill? Yeah its pretty intense. Great action

I just know of the sub from Netflix, not aware of the English language version

When it comes to Gundam, Zeta, 08th MS Team and Stardust Memory are your go to for classic mech/space opera howdoyado

Knights of Sidonia Season 2 gets released on Netflix July 3rd. The first season was excellent.

Just started Gurren Lagann and Gargantia on Netflix and I am enjoying them so far. Netflix seems to be picking up a lot of mech and space opera-ish types shows lately, which are right up my alley.

Knights of Sidonia Season 2 was awesome just like the first, fingers crossed for a third season. This show has brought life back into the mecha/space opera genre.

Netflix knows how to back the right content, love this show.

One Punch Man is something I've recently got into watching, I knew of the series before watching it since I have friends heavily into the Manga. It's probably going to be one of those shows that people will enjoy watching simply because of how absolutely ridiculous it is. It's like Bayonetta levels of action on roids.

I'm also watching, for the first time, Mobile Suit Gundam, the very early, 80's to 90's stuff. I found a chart that details pretty much every single Gundam show out there, and there's a lot, most of it alternative timelines so you can jump into one of the many different shows without having to be too concerned about being clued up on the history and backstory. I finished up Mobile Suit Gundam: Origin which was 50 episodes, or three movies that basically condense down the series into something more easy to digest. I recommend anyone with even a passing interest in mech Anime to look into Origin, but I do also recommend just watching the three movies, as good as the series was, the movies did a much better job of telling the story.

Shame we're only getting a 12 episode run, but given how successful the series has been I'd be amazed if it didn't get a second series commissioned for 2016. There's a lot of great material they can pull from the Manga.

So my girlfriend got me into anime so I can finally comment in this section.

I've watched all 26 episodes of Cowboy Bepop. Still need to watch the movie. I connect on a deep level with Spike and Valentine is a trainwreck. It's like the anime version of Firefly so what's not to love.

I just finished reading the Akira graphic novels so the movie is now on my list to watch. Love the comics though and heard the movie is really good.

Next series to check out is Neon Genesis Evangelion. Don't know much about it yet but hopefully will watch it sometime in the coming month.

I wonder if people still even check these forums much anymore.

Hello?
