What was learned:
Need to repeat the clips more. Some MP3 players wont allow seeking and force listeners back to the beginning.
The player used for the site is pure ass. The last 6 seconds is cut out (further reinforcing the need for more time between clips and more repeats)
Cut-off date to be clearly marked.

FYI for anyone who decided to hang around through our extended break, Golden Sun is our next game.
Your job, should you choose to participate, is to listen to 1-5 notes of a song and properly name the game the song goes to.
This contest will begin with the first show of 2013 and will continue until August 2013. The scores will be tallied and the winner will be announced.

X will be 2 games to be determined later. We are unsure if they will be 2 pre-determined games, or if we will just have the winner pick from a pool of games.
Listeners can help us decide by voicing their input in this thread.
At the end of each show several sound clips containing 1-5 notes of a song will be played. Your objective is to correctly name the game (as the game is printed on the cartridge/CD/box/etc).
Rules:
No abbreviations or short hand. Answers must read as they do on the box/cart/CD. Spell check your work!
We are going to be dicks with this. Syphen filter will fail. Syphon Filter is correct. The answers won’t be case sensitive, but do yourself a favor, capitalize when needed. There may be bonus points. ALWAYS ASSUME BONUS POINTS!
In the event of conflicting game titles such as the Final Fantasy series, The 1st generation North American version is the correct answer.
Scoring:
The default scoring system is as follows
2 points for naming the game
Possible points per sound bite, 2 points.
Bonus points:
Occasionally bonus points will be awarded. They may be hidden, to be revealed when someone stumbles upon them, or in the form of something else (to be announced during the show).
Once the show is released, you have Five (5) days from the date of posting to submit your answers. Entries after this period will be rejected.
Entries MUST BE SUBMITTED VIA E-MAIL!
Scores will be kept track of via the forums
If there is a tie, then a trivia round will be held via Skype.
