I’d hate to kill the mystery as to why I couldn’t make it… so I won’t.
My comments from listening to the show:
Maxim didn’t really “forget” about Tia, he didn’t really ever realize that Tia was into him, ’cause he was a moron. They’re trying to hint that all guys are like that and that all girls are either like Tia or like Selan, though technically, the only difference between Tia and Selan in personality is that Selan is a warrior “too” which would explain why she has Maxim whipped and makes him marry her and give up fighting to have a kid, etc.
The flower wasn’t to save the world, it was to keep the sick/exhausted girl from going after it and getting herself killed.
Ok, at one point, when discussing a mandatory equip-by-hand during the game, or something to that effect, Derek says: “You have to manually go there and put it in”… I can’t resist: that’s what she said. :p
AND, my niece got me the “I can has a cheeseberger?” book for christmas. My favorite is “in ur quantum box…maybe” and “k…i redy u may add fishies nao” (the first it’s in a box, which is a schrodinger’s cat pun, which I adore, and the second, the cat is sitting in the fish tank.) AND who can’t love “best sock evar” which you absolutely cannot appreciate without the picture itself. http://www.lolcat.us/2008/01/07/best-sock-evar/
Hahaha, this was a good episode. I loved Don's laugh. I knew exactly which picture you were talking about and I had a similar reaction.
Despite having played but an hour of the game, I really liked this episode and the last. In that sense, it's not only your humor that livens your narrative, it's also the many comparisons you often draw to other games, games to which I might be more familiar and help me flesh out the ideas.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to your “Robotrek” episode. Keep up the great work.
I guess this is what happens when you have hosts who look at everything as a giant joke.
Now, while I (Derek) stated the game was okay, but not worth another playthrough, I still recommend the game. Does it deserve to sit next to the likes of FF3/7, SNES Zelda, secret of mana, etc? not a chance. But its good if you are looking for another RPG to play and have grown tired of the 639 Kefka runs.
