Amanda had to leave mid-show since she did not get as far as us.
This was recorded as one big show. It has been split into two parts. Expect part 2 later.

  1. I still disagree, lol. I still call it Final Fantasy VI. Sure it was called Final Fantasy VI when it came out in the U.S., but it's the 6th game in the series! It gets confusing anyway. Especially since people can emulate translated versions of every Final Fantasy (including the actual 3) and Final Fantasy 3 was also released on the DS.

Whatever though, call it what you want.

  2. That's fine. But we call it as it printed on the box, cartridge, ads,
    and title screen.

  3. I've always taken an in-between approach to this matter, especially because the version we're referencing is named “Final Fantasy III,” even though it is nothing more than a near-direct translation of FFVI. Thus, I call it “Final Fantasy VI” or “Final Fantasy III US” (as needlessly specific as that might be). And then I don't expect anyone else to adhere to this standard.

I also call SMB2 “Super Mario Bros. 2 US” because I feel “Super Mario Bros. 2” is the name of the game that was never originally released. Semantics …

  4. Star Wars was released as 4,5,6 then 1,2,3… are you saying “Star Wars Episode 1” should be called “Star Wars Episode 4” ?

  5. BTW, it was BANNON, not Barron.

  6. Well, I would if Star Wars 1,2, and 3 were released in Japan before the last three and then the last three were brought to America, but retitled episodes 1, 2, and 3, but then were officially corrected once all six movies came out in America years later. However, that's not the case at all and has nothing to do with Final Fantasy, haha.

Also, I just choose to ignore that the prequels even exist…

  7. Your logic is flawed.
Star Wars Episode 4, was titled as such from the very beginning. (a
new hope was later added to differentiate between the next two films)
When the movie was first released in 1977 it was titled episode 4.
George Lucas already had the idea for episodes 1, 2, and 3, but during
the creative process, focused primarily on “The Star Wars.”
(Before I blather on forever and write up a 10 page history paper on
    Star Wars…)
The numbering system for Star Wars differs from Final Fantasy because
FF3(US) was first relased as Final Fantasy 6 in Japan Star Wars
Episode IV was first named #4 and will always be named as such.
FF3/6 is named as such because of the nature of their releases. A
Final Fantasy 6 was released in Japan. Japan also had Final Fantasy 1,
2, 3, 4, and, 5. The US only had one and two. It was decided that the
game would be called Final Fantasy 3 to avoid confusion in the
    American market.

Again, I could go on, assault you with a wall of text over 9000 words
in length, but trying to use Star Wars in a Final Fantasy 3 or 6
argument is worse than comparing apples to oranges.

And now that I have revealed the size of my Star Wars nerdieness, Im
gonna go play more x-wing alliance.
